Le Chasseur hunts
down hidden calories that can sabotage your attempts at
weight loss.
Can your Calcium
Supplement Make you Fat?

One of the Three Basics of a Micronutrition
program is a good Calcium Supplement. All of our
Clients know this! Some of the Calcium Supplements on
the market are rather large tablets which are hard to
swallow and cause constipation and dissolve very poorly.
"A little bit of sugar makes the medicine
go down" is what our Mother used to say and in the case of
CitralCal Caramel Creamy Bites we have another example!
These are absolutely delicious and there
is even a Chocolate and a Lemon variety.
Each contains 500mg Calcium Citrate and
200 IU of Vitamin D. The dose is two per day giving
you a total of 1000mg of Calcium. This plus one
serving of dairy will get you close to the 1500mg we
recommend for most of our clients.
The problem is that each of these chews
contains 35 Calories! Check out the Nutrition Facts!

Eating two of these a day will lead to a 73lb
weight gain over 10 years unless you intentionally cut
back on your calories to make up for these hidden calories
and who I ask, can or will do that?
Well, they aren't actually hidden, they are
listed in the Nutrition Facts, but who really would take
this into consideration when choosing their Calcium
Supplement?
Lets do the math to see how this adds up!
Two
Pieces = 35 x 2 = 70
Calories per Day
365
Days/year x 70 Calories = 25,550 Calories
There are
3500 Calories in a Pound of Fat
25,550
Cal / 3500 Cal = 7.3 lbs of fat per year
10 years x 7.3
lbs = 73lbs of fat!!

The primary competitor for this product
are the Viactiv Chews which have 20 Calories each, this
would lead to a weight gain of only 42lbs in 10 years.
